Once upon a decimal point…

Stories are always more fun than statistics.

A job market success storyIf stories were puppies and pixie dust, statistics would be feral cats and broken glass. OK, maybe we’re being a little harsh, but you get the picture.

We much prefer to sit around the campfire, roast s’mores and hear success stories from SnagAJob.com’s eight million registered job seekers rather than to talk about them in terms of numbers, percentages and forecasts.

But sometimes numbers are too good to ignore. Here are some recent stats to make you smile from U. S. Department of Labor:

• The U.S. job market added 296,000 service industry jobs in August and September.
• The average hourly wage rose again in September and is up 4.1 percent for the year.

Yeah more jobs! Year more money! Now that’s what we call a happy ending, but hopefully it’s just the beginning to this job market success story. Stay tuned for the next chapter… And have a great weekend.
