Return of the (hourly workforce) Jedi

by Rick Duncan on August 2, 2007

SnagAJob.com is bringing back its blog to help support America’s hourly workforce. We’d like to apologize for the overly long hiatus, but we have a good excuse: We’re so busy over here at our booming Richmond, Virginia headquarters supporting hourly workers and employers that we just didn’t have time. (Well that, and we got hooked on the Nintendo Wii.)

In this very space, we’ll feature regular musings on all issues facing hourly workers, from hiring trends to targeted job advice and how not to humiliate yourself in front of co-workers. (Hint: Remember to wear pants your first day on the job).

As we rev our blog back up, we want to invite you to send us your questions, ideas and hourly job poems by emailing us or commenting below. Want tips on how to move up the career ladder? Think you wear the most embarrassing work uniform? (Prove it by sending in a photo.)And why should you share your stories and hang out with us?

Not too brag, but we know a little bit about America’s hourly and part-time jobs and workers. In fact, nearly eight million of you have registered us. And we work with some of the nation’s biggest and best employers, including Home Depot, 7-Eleven, FedEx and Target.

So saddle up on your hourly pony and keep doing the great things you do, namely, fueling America’s economy every day. It may be a bumpy ride at times, but if you follow our guide – and take our hand – we’ll make it out square.

(We’ll be updating the look, feel and functionality of our new blog over the next few weeks, so don’t get too attached.)
