Could the new minimum wage mean more money in your pocket?

minimum-wage-2009On July 24, the new federal minimum wage will go into effect, rising from $6.55 to $7.25. While some states already require employers to pay their workers $7.25 or higher, 29 states do not.

So how does the new minimum wage affect you? It’s a mixed bag. For some people, it’ll be a welcome boost to their paycheck. To others, it will make finding a new job even harder. It all depends on if you have a job or not.
