Scented, light-up uniforms and recyclable shirts
Twenty years from now, workers in jobs at McDonald’s, Burger King and other restaurant jobs won’t be wearing the same old polo shirts and baseball caps. Say hello to the uniforms of the future.
In the new issue of QSR, a magazine for quick-service restaurant owners, experts predict that in 2030, fast-food workers will become walking advertisements. They may wear high-tech uniforms scented like menu items: “If your customer is passing on dessert but you walk up and smell like apple pie, it might provoke them to order it,” says Michelle Watkins, a technology manager with chemical company DuPont.
Your uniform might glow with embedded LEDs. When a new special is launched, your shirt could be reprogrammed to say “2 for 1 Soy Burgers” in bright blinking letters. Uniforms might also be stain-proof, sweat-proof, super-stylish or even recyclable.
Would you work a restaurant job if you had to walk around smelling like apple pie? If not, maybe it’s time to find a new job.

I just wanted to let snagajob that if this site didn’t exist, I wouldn’t have a really good job, and I want to say thanks for being out there for people like me who really have no idea what they are doing on the internet when it comes to searching for a job. It is the most wonderful site I have found yet, and I no more put the application in, and I got the job, so I wanted to make sure you heard how thankful I am about it. It does work. It took awhile, but it happen.
