Job search advice – Rely on your family

istockrelyonfamilyJob tip #8.

Recently we asked you to tell us about some of your favorite job hunting tips over on SnagAJob.com. We got some great tips from people just like you and wanted to share some of our favorites.

Ask family members if they know of any local jobs that are hiring (How I got my first job). Don’t go job searching with a friend, this will make it look like you’re un-responsible and can’t do something by yourself (besides he/she could get the job). When going into stores to fill out applications turn them into a manager (talk to the manager don’t just give them your application, ask if their hiring and advertise yourself accordingly) If a manager isn’t there take note of when they will and return, then to talk to them. Final but not least, create a profile on SnagAJob.com! - Chris B.
