Mock job interview at J. Sargeant Reynolds

At SnagAJob.com, we love getting the chance to work with job seekers face to face. We recently conducted mock job interviews at Middle College at J. Sargeant Reynolds Community College in Richmond, VA. Middle College is an opportunity for young people who have not completed high school to transition into college courses.

The best advice we can give anyone who’s nervous about job interviews is this: practice first so you can walk in knowing all the answers! We asked the Middle College job seekers these questions:

  • What jobs have you had before?
  • What did you like at each? What were you best at?
  • What did you dislike about each job?
  • Describe a time when you really impressed your manager. What did you do, and what were the results?
  • Describe a time when you made a mistake on the job. How did you fix it?

Once you’ve thought about all of these, you’ll be prepared to answer even the toughest interview questions, like:

  • What are your strengths?
  • What’s your greatest weakness? How are you working to overcome it?
  • Why are you the best candidate for this job?
  • Why do you want to work here?
