One of the biggest problems with getting a job, especially a first job, is that you don’t know what to expect. Legal working age varies by state. If you’re unsure what your state’s requirements are, check with a school counselor or career center. They should have the paperwork, too. In terms of “knowing” someone to get a foot in the door, this often helps, but isn’t necessary.
